If you post to Mudcat messages, you properly ought to replace any special symbols like © and word processor quotes with their HTML equivalents, until this long-standing Mudcat input bugaboo finally gets addressed. Otherwise, these characters show up as garbage to at least some sizeable segment of Mudcat readers, even though the same characters look fine to you when you input, preview and revisit the thread.
