My own take (note- my personal opinion) is that there is no danger unless they fall on you.

However, when I bought my house, I rejected one because it was close enough to major transmission lines that shortwave (and other) radio reception was poor. At the time I was an avid listener, but my wife's complaints about squawks in the night cured me of the addiction.
