Harley Noble will work fine for the public name, but bards also give a secret name known only to them and the instrument they play. It allows a special relationship between them.

And the first one of youse layabouts that cracks a joke about a special name for your instrument ...... such as Big Ed ....... or Sgt. Steiner (please kiss his helmet) ..... please be advised after playing in pubs, I have heard them all.
