I've verified to my own satisfaction that a generation is "missing." I didn't notice it at first because I accepted the words of Matthew without double-checking. That was pretty careless, I admit.

And an idea does strike me: that such a blatant error - trivial or otherwise - appears on the first page of the New Testament, and tens of millions of people still insist that the Bible is literally and infallibly true. That includes well-publicized and well-funded Creationists.

It blows my mind.

But surely that's not the mind-blower GfS was thinking of.
