We Yankees are so irrational. Columbus discovered Watling Island on October 12th, yet we celebrate it on the 10th this year.

Considering that he was 500 years too late, and that he never set foot on the continent, and that he and his crew almost wiped out the Caribe Indians, why do we celebrate?
