Momentum appears to be shifting against the Somali pirates as ship owners implement security improvements and the international naval units are resorting to more aggressive intervention. The latest instance was the successful recapture of an Italian cargo ship. Upon being approached by pirates the crew retreated to an armored room and radioed for assistance.
