Thread Name: Lyr Req: I Made a Hundred in the Backyard at Mum's
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: I scored a hundred in the backyard..
G'day,

Re cricket songs, a couple I remember hearing are:

Cricket Lovely Cricket sung by Lord Kitchener
and
Battle of the Century sung by the same bloke I think.

The first one went something like this:

'Cricket lovely cricket
At Lords where I first saw it
Yardley tried his best
Goddard won de Test
They gave the crowd plenty fun
The second Test West Indies won
With those little pals of mine
Ramadhin and Valentine.'

and the otherone starts:

'The Battle of the century
May and Goddard fight for supremacy...'

Hope this points in the right direction.
