Subject: RE: BS: Shane McBride's family history, eh?
"Is Shame McBride related to Chongo the Chimp?"

This is indeed the question. As yet, no one has directly addressed the hybrid-human issue raised by TheFamousEccles when he revived this important thread, although Rapparee's immediate post-revival posts hint that he is, as so often, in the know. For the benefit of those who neglected to open Famous's link, the gist of it is that scientists have recently proven that many modern humans are in fact sapiens-neanderthal crosses. Other modern humans are crosses between H. sapiens and a species known only as the Denisovans--a species known only from a little girl's finger and somebody's molar. Still other modern humans, most of them natives of Africa, are pedigree H. sapiens. So if you and I are part ape-man, isn't it well within the bounds of possibility that the McBride clan (and I mean no disrespect when I say this) are part ape? It shouldn't be too difficult to decide this interesting question one way or the other. After all, the McBride DNA is among the most intensively studied on the planet (seven times in the last three years, by the OPP alone). Granted, Chongo himself is sui generis (again, no disrespect is intended, quite the contrary actually) but troglodyte is as troglodyte does.

So there you have it. You can argue with Shane. You can argue with me. You can even argue with Richard Bridge (as many have learned, to their chagrin). But you can't argue with Science.
