Concerning your guitar playing, please don't make my mistake. I spent YEARS disparaging my own playing. Finally, only this year, I decided my playing will never be full of those complicated little frills that make so many songs sound so good. My style, I have decided after 16 years of trying, is uncomplicated and straight forward. It is a simple accompaniment, little more than the rythmic plunking to add to my real instrument which is the voice.

In other words, I heard nothing wrong with your guitar work at all. I understand that you only recently picked up the guitar. If it turns out that your style is to include frills then you will get there. If not, your voice will carry you to cover the uncomplicated guitar work.

Besides, it has been my experience that a woman who can sing will have no trouble finding people to play fancy guitar with her.
