I have been looking for a picture to illustrate the time and place of the New River Train. I located several more modern pictures, but finally have found one that will have to do. This picture from 1906, carries the inscriptions Greetings from Gauley Bridge, W. VA. at the top and New River at Gauley Junction at the bottom. The train running through the New River Gorge is a bit hard to spot but you can easily see the plume of smoke from the stack ~~ look for the engine at the right of the picture on the far bank.
