Subject: RE: Lyr/Chords Req: Boat of Silver, a la Bok
This weekend, in a workshop at the first Maine Music Heritage Festival, Gordon commented that he believes that this music should be shared. He believes the music belongs to the people but the royalties belong to the artist. In other words, if you sing it among friends it is yours. If you record it or make money from it part of that belongs to the artist.

The reason I bring this up is that someone else at the same festival commented that he had once asked Gordan for the words to one of his songs and got the words, chords, tabulature, and a few notes on the tuning and performance. Gordon truly believes in sharing. I'm sure he would change his mind if he were overwhelmed with requests so I would make him my source of last resort. If you cannot find it anywhere else, go to him.

A word of caution. He also commented that he is very disorganized and you may find that there is a significant time lag between your request and his response. He is, after all, a very busy person. This is another reason to make him your source of last resort.
