Thread Name: Lyr Req: The Wheel of the Wagon is Broken
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: The Wheel on the Wagon is Broken
I remember some other lines:

The wheel of the wagon is broken
And it ain't gonna turn no more.
The old grey mare is dead and gone
And there's weeds 'round the ranch house door.

And

I'll hang up my spurs and my saddle
'Though I'm gonna miss them, I know.
My guns with my spurs and my saddle,
'Cos I'm wearing city clothes.

And

Goodbye old Faithful,
Goodbye to the pals that I knew.
Goodbye old Faithful,
The days of the west are through.

I've no idea who made the recording I heard as a child, but as soon as I heard the name of the song today these are the words I remembered. I can't put them in their proper order or remember any others but between us we'll make a fine long ballad!
