Didn't care for the Rog' incident either. What was that all about?

Thought Jeter's throw, however, was way overlooked. He made a great play, but I really didn't get to see it on replay until Sunday. At least Tim "I'm just gonna keep talking" McCarver fessed up to overlooking Jeter's role in getting the big out.

And O'Neill's walk was right up there with the Boggs base on balls against Atlanta (who?). Boggs BTW would lose a point in any Yankees comparison (as does Clemens) because he's basically a Red Sox. (Please don't even mention Boggs sitting out end-of-season Boston games to protect his batting title while Don Mattingly plays.)

Torre doesn't make many mistakes, but bringing in any "closer" other than Reviera last night was a big one. Should have left Rog' in there. Allowed the Mets to leave on a big upbeat note and ended up causing Mo to take some knocking around that shouldn't even have happened.

But hey, bottom line here is that Yanks up 2 sure beats the alternative. Ya gotta feel good that the Mets' two aces left the Stadium without a W -- and we got El Duque tonite versus Reed (who?)!

Still, it ain't over yet. And I was sure glad last night that the game is for 9 innings, not 10.
