Thread Name: Lyr Req: Armstrong Tourist Rest Home
Subject: Lyr Add; ARMSTRONG TOUREST REST HOME (D DeBolt)
I'm puzzled. I found this "song" at Spotify performed by Fraser & DeBolt with Ian Guenther, on their self-titled album, and I listened, but it's all instrumental. It's the same on 2 other albums: Fraser & DeBolt's "Psychedelic Folk Essentials" (2011) and the various-artists collection "Acoustic Folk Generation Songs" (2011). Only this version had lyrics (transcribed by me):

ARMSTRONG TOUREST [sic] REST HOME
Written by Daisy DeBolt
As sung by George Elliott on "Child of the Moon" (2004)

Reason I get so upset when you talk this assuredly
Is where on earth is it leadin'?
Cowboys had trouble with readin'.
Mistletoe is leaving a head on your shoulders.

My, my, my!
Your love for me is an overnight sensation.
My love for you it's an overnight sensation too.

Constance, what a name! You should 'a' said Felicity.
How did you hear I was hungry?
That's nonsense, Marie, and you know it.
Girl has made you a little bit bolder.

My, my, my!
Your love for me is an overnight sensation.
My love for you it's an overnight sensation too.

Now that the whole thing is over,
Heaven knows what I'll do.
I might try to get back to the clover,
Or I might stay and wait for you.

[Daisy DeBolt's web site (see above) shows that she made (at least) 6 albums, not counting the "Fraser & DeBolt" albums.

[Daisy DeBolt died October 4, 2011. There is a thread about her here: Obit: RIP Daisy DeBolt (1945-2011)]
