However, they do not sing "... tutto il di," they contract it as " ... tutt' il di."

That's part of what made it hard for me to be sure what they were singing.

I'm glad the thread title no longer restricts the topic to the "Italian lyrics," but I don't think the discussion is limited to the Gaylord's recording either. It seems now to be about the original version as well as any other recordings.
