In case anybody is interested, The Clare Festival of Traditional Singing (Féile Amhránaíochta An Chláir) will take place this weekend, starting at 8 p.m. on Friday with our official opening by Michael Collins, renowned actor and traditional song enthusiast, followed by a lecture by Jim Carroll and Pat Mackenzie on Collecting Songs from Travellers in London. Various informal singing sessions, also a singing workshop by Kevin and Ellen Mitchell on Saturday morning, a Seminar at 4 p.m. on A Shared Heritage - Traveller and Settled? Grand Concert will be at 8 p.m. Saturday, lineup will be:   The Sean Tyrrell Trio, Mickey Dunne, Tim Dennehy, Kevin & Ellen Mitchell, Antaine Ó Faracháin, Martin Collins, Kitty Cassidy, Thomas McCarthy, Elizabeth Stewart and Celine O'Leary. Concert €20, Weekend ticket €30. Theme this year is: Travellers and Fellow Travellers.
