I can reveal the identity of the baritone MD player that VT provided a link to....

It's me! My name is Jane Foggin (foggers is my nickname) and I play in a band called the Backyard Buskers. I would second the recommendation of the Ning site Friends of the Mountain Dulcimer.

My baritone MD was made for my by my other half; it has quite a long VSL of 31" and we got the strings from NewTone strings; I can't remember to string sizes off hand, but I will try and check.
