I haven't done it yet, and in fact I haven't fired a gun since I left the U.S. Army in 1973 - but I was a pretty good shot, and it sometimes feels tempting to use a gun to knock out mistletoe or a dead branch instead of climbing up forty feet to reach the offending article with a saw or loppers. I'm not fit enough to climb that far any more (if I ever was), so I'm paying a tree surgeon megabucks today to work on our trees. It's fun to watch them work, though - I can't believe how high they climb.
