Thread Name: Lyr Req: Brig o Stirling (from Gaberlunzie)
Subject: Lyr Add: THE BRIG O STIRLING (from Gaberlunzie)
Here's my attempt at a transcription from the recording I heard at Spotify. I'm sure it needs lots of corrections. Please help.

THE BRIG O STIRLING
As sung by Gaberlunzie on "Independent Scots" (2005)

Before his army Wallace stood
To stem the tide o' the English flood
As o'er the brig come Edward's brood,
O'er the brig o' Stirlin'.

CHORUS: Wallace, Wallace, the prince o' men, an' loud the pipes were skirlin'
As he snared the heids o' the Saxon ... doon by the brig o' Stirlin'.

He rallied weel the ... men,
The hielan clans frae hill an' glen.
Frae ..., Perth an' Aberdeen,
They come to ficht at Stirlin'. CHORUS

The English gazed on us wi' scorn
Upon that fine September morn.
The Scottish pride would soon be born
Doon by the brig o' Stirlin'. CHORUS

The English knights rid two by two;
The Scottish foot stood fast an' true,
But pike an' broadsword quickly slew
The heavy horse at Stirlin'. CHORUS

Ten thousand Sutherland men lay dead
In the muddy gore o' Causewayhead.
The river Forth ran a bloody red
Ablow the brig o' Stirlin'. CHORUS

It was a fierce and cruel sicht
As Wallace led the bloody ficht,
And Longshanks left his men an' flicht
Far frae the brig o' Stirlin'. CHORUS

Now seven hundred years have gone
And Causewayhead's ...
But mony's the Saxon slumbers on
Doon by the brig o' Stirlin'. CHORUS
