Thread Name: Autumn Album
Subject: Autumn Album
I'm now a quarter of the way through the 52 Folk Songs project.

52 Folk Songs - Indigo is a virtual album, downloadable for a nominal charge, bringing together all the songs published on the site in weeks 7-13. The featured folk songs are:

Derwentwater's Farewell
Hughie the Graeme
Grand conversation on Napoleon
The bonny bunch of roses
The death of Nelson
Two sisters
Young Waters

The album also includes

Lord Allenwater
Danny Deever
Sam Hall
Serenity
Plains of Waterloo
Boney's lamentation
St Helena lullaby
The unborn Byron
The wind and the rain
Percy's song
Dayspring mishandled

(Some of these are also folk songs!)

These songs have all appeared on the site between the beginning of October and the end of November, making Indigo very much an autumn album (an autumn almanac, you could almost say).

As well as the 18 (count 'em) songs listed above - all of which can be heard at the 52 Folk Songs web site - the downloadable album includes complete lyrics and commentaries on the songs, as well as two album-only tracks: House of the Rising Sun parts 1 and 2.

Violet, the previous 52fs album, consisted almost entirely of unaccompanied songs. 11 of the 20 tracks on Indigo are accompanied - by reed organ, melodica, whistle, recorder, flute, melodeon, bongoes and computer. (Although not all at once.)

The project continues at 52fs.
