I've been playing 6 years and I'm 58 - also can't strum but fairly good at learning from tab now:Thought maybe I should be holding the guitar someway to see the fretboard, but will practise more standing up - theresd no reason why I need to learn to play standing other than I feel it aught to help project the voice more (always solo)
