Thread Name: BS: Jeremy 'The Idiot' Clarkson
Subject: RE: BS: Jeremy 'The Idiot' Clarkson
What got omited fromthe coverage quite quickly is that moments later he was saying if a train driver ran over a person, he shouldn't stop, for two reasons.

First, he wouldn't be able to do anything for them; and second, it would mean the train schedules being mucked up.

The point is not that commenting on him is or isn't worth it [beside the point], but that national TV media are endangering themselves and the tone of society but letting such stuff go uchallenged.

For a clear example of the consequences of not challenging, see the noel Gentlemen's Agreement" by Laura Hobson. The book is clearer on this than the film. In that, she was saying while random casual anti-semitic remarks go unchallenged, then they take on the respectability of normality and social acceptability.
