A former (excellent) student of mine from Malaysia reports a worrying development there - his words

" there is now a requirement that Christians wishing to sing carols in public need a police permit to do so. You will be interviewed by the police to make sure that no Muslims are converted to Christianity because you are proclaiming the birth of our Lord and Saviour..."

Now I don't think all that favourably of Xtianity, but that sort of restriction is fairly objectionable.
