I know how you feel about Morris Dancing. I feel the same cringe factor about Scottish bagpipes, Country and Western, Rap, Techno, Celtic Shmeltic etc. However, the latter are not my heritage and Morris Dancing is, so there is every reason to include it in the opening ceremony.
