I think the problem with shade frames is that they are low value and take up a lot of space. Shops don't want to stock them. On-line suppliers don't want the hassle.

I went round all the lighting departments - loads of stuff, but nothing was right. I'm currently looking for a rise and fall fitting for over the dining table - mind you, the dining end of the room does look like a farm kitchen with papers and stuff over the table and the sideboard looking like a dresser, with stuff. All those lights look very industrial, though. There was a stunning white sphere in John Lewis - £200. so it's tissue paper for me.

Cooking program on - a London market, and a bubble and squeak and bacon bap. Oh my diet - two lots of starch! Two lots of fat! Thank goodness bubble needs a day's advance planning.
