A report a day or so ago was that a weather buoy detected a wave "just off Scotland" with a record height of 67 feet (20 meters?).

Apparently the observation came from automatic reporting equipment on the buoy, nobody actually saw it, and the report didn't say (they might not have been able to tell) what direction it might be travelling. The location was given as "about 60 miles from the coast," so it's unlikely it would (or did) reach land at quite that height - unless it was still growing when it passed the buoy.
