You all deserve to feel very proud of yourselves! I,ve just spent half an hour reading down the thread, and I feel quite humbled by all you are getting on with (all mine is in the hands of other people).

I did lose 5lbs at last week's weigh-in, but it would be mainly down to poor eating. I got to 3pm that afternoon, and realised that I hadn't eaten all day. So I ate an apple. The problem is that workmen come early, and I have no table clear yet to sit at.

However, the kitchen is about done, the new appliances are up and running, the decorators are in, the plumber has finished, The new spare bed has arrived, and the electrician has a couple of small jobs left to do.
The sticking point is the joiner at the moment. The new dining room window went in last Friday, and as they took down the old boarding from the recess, before it went in, a load of loose stonework came down from the wall above. The central lintel (wooden) had rotted away. So one new concrete and another wooden one later, the new window's in. The recess has been partly re-boarded, and a new sill made. So an hour or two's job has mushroomed!
Unfortunately, the phone line comes in there, and the ancient cable has objected in the strongest possible way to being disturbed. I have no phone line.

So now I await the line engineers.

Had my annual meds review with the GP today, and I am all signed up for another year. He was happy with the blood pressure readings I had done over the last week or so, thank goodness.

For once, I can't wait to start cleaning!
