It appears the work is all finished, apart from the yard! This gives me 2 days to get all the building dust and mess cleaned out, and all the accumulated and piled up stuff shifted.
Yesterday I twined an artificial fir garland through the spindles of the staircase, just below the handrail, and then threaded some new red berry lights through. That and the illuminated door wreath are now on a timer, so I don't have to switch them on and off.
The cake is iced (with ready-roll) and has been decorated with silvery and gold edible glitter stars. (Presents not wrapped yet).

The kissing ball has mistletoe on it, but is made with other greenery like ivy and holly. They are usually made on a wire frame, which is like the seams on an inflatable beach ball - usually 4 I think. The mistletoe hangs off the bottom, or occasionally inside it. Sometimes apples are hung too. I have one mention of little home made male and female figures being made and hung inside too. You could really put what appeals to you on it.

Weigh-in tonight - stayed the same. Just one pound short of the stone!
