What I forgot to mention is that when my friend from LA comes to visit she'll swing by my brother's house on the way out of town (town - ha! It'll take hours of driving to get from one side of LA to the other, I fear!) and pick up a sewing machine and a sewing table that my sister kept from Mom's house and is sending to Moonglow. My brother brought it down from Seattle in the fall and I'll bring it back along with dorm room stuff. This is a slow motion delivery but will be perfect for a young woman who aims to design and sew for a living - the family sewing stuff.

Kat, we cross posted. It sounds like a lovely holiday, and I hope that Morgan has a set of earphones for that drum pad kit! Most of them do these days. :)

Susan, you're right about Craig's list and freecycle - you've have phenomenal good luck in getting such a range of items and giving away stuff - but it isn't an environment to be too complacent about. Sometimes you have to relax and let the opportunists have their way (we found the competition between scrap metal collectors back in October when we were filling that foreclosure dumpster to be something we had to keep track of - and point out occasionally that anything they picked up was without strings attached, so please not to bicker among themselves as they one-upped each other.)
