How are the rest of you for exercise? Is the weather such that you can get out...

PT is at a whole new level.

Today (in the PT pool) we calibrated my legs to determine how the aquatic treadmill's MPH equates to the BPM speeds of deep-water aquajogging. We found that with the meds reduction, I am now able to go as fast as I ever was, but I need to build up wind. Also there are different strides/forces that will take a little more muscle development.

But the basics are right there to return to fast, aerobic aqua-running-- sooner rather than later.

We will probably do a few more PT-pool sessions to continue to build stair-climbing ability, but other than that I could be in the dry clinic now.

My main PT-ist also approved my basic "discharge" plan of transferring some dry workouts to our weight room. We will stick with at least one dry-clinic PT appt per week to finish out the benefits approved. These will get me thru the SAD winter, because they (and the doc) will be asking me to report on weekly workouts at home and in our club pool.

It's been very hard to get this far, but I am finally where I was before the meds knocked me back into chair-i-tude-- ready to make the transition from pool to weight-bearing. First I have to aqua-run off the 50 pounds gained during the high-meds period on the 1600 calories I was on for most of it, till I began PT and bumped it to 1800.

I'm sore, but it's the right kind-- from hard workouts.

And I'm freezing because no matter how you dress for it, it's cold going from pool to car to house during a wind advisory! But the slip-on shoes worked great as far as getting wet feet INTO them.
