My only daily "news": Local weather forecast online from Environment Canada. I especially like the weather radar to plan outdoor activity when rain is broadly forecast--I've become pretty good at estimating within 15 minutes when rain will hit the dog park.
Current affairs and sometimes inter/national (and whether I want it or not, Toronto news) from CBC radio. CBC never covers Durham Region. But nor do CTV, Global & CITY, unless there's a major crime. The only local news for my area (east of Toronto) comes from the thrice-weekly junk newspapers--4 pages of badly written news, 1 page of worse-ly written editorial, and 40 pages of ads and kiddie sports scores (hundreds of pages of ads in the weeks pre-Xmas & Boxing week). It has never, ever occurred to me to visit their web site.
For occasional big-picture national and international affairs I check out The Walrus online.
