Oh dear me. I have agreed recently with Bozo, and with Mither, and now I have to agree with White Man (at least in part).
At the time the Euro was born I opposed the UK joining it for reasons close to those Giok puts in kitchen economics terms. A unified currency precluded differing fiscal or monetary policies (inflationary or deflationary) in different geographical areas. And lo! the attempt not to unify fiscal and monetary policy has led to impossible internal strains.
But now we have another problem. If the Euro is not robust enough then financial crises will envelop one country after another and whether the UK is in the Euro or no it will suffer as the nearest major consumer markets erode. That is the reason Camermoron's little Englander politicking has made a crisis for theEuro and therefore UK more, not less, likely.
