Subject: RE: Declutter & Accountability - January 2012
I managed to get through two Christmas dinners and fried leftovers without putting on any extra - still at my lowest for months (apart from an odd glitch yesterday)! Still have a stock of choccies, seasonal sweeties, nuts, cakes and biscuits, but last year I managed to keep these going until Candlemas. (The next day after that being my birthday can lead to further supplies.)

Today I cleared an area in front of my study window as I am having a curtain pole measurer coming on Thursday. I don't feel up to doing the job myself as I don't know what the wall is made of, and one window is very wide. I have to move stuff in the living room as well.

I also headed off the post of the previous occupant at last. They never redirected mail, and I wasn't given the address to send on to. The estate agents dealt with it for a bit, but then started shredding it. I set up a stamp to read NOT AT THIS ADDRESS and put things back in the post, which worked except for plastic covered things, on which someone would carefully wipe the ink off and redeliver it here. Today I had back, for the third time, one on which I had stuck a sticker ov er the address, with the stamp on. Someone had carefully moved the stamp and reattached it before redelivering it. The sorting office now has a flag on my address. Only stuff for me will now arrive!

The problem with that declutter was that I went out in the storm to the next but one village, next to the Waitrose supermarket, where they were selling off Christmas goods at half price. Hence some of the above mentioned stash of goodies.
