In an apparently serious threat, fairly large numbers of providers of Internet services have threatened to "Nuke" the internet in protest against SOPA.

Services who have singed on to at least discuss the possibility include:

If the plan comes together, expect the most likely date for a shutdown of the above (and probably others) on 23 January 2012, the day before the US Senate begins hearings on the SOPA proposal.

Although still in the planning stages, this appears to be a serious threat that is rapidly gaining a following.

Although no firm date has been set, planning a few outdoor activities might be in order for the day. (or just go to the office and do some actual work for a change)
