Leeneia - just to clarify...I'm talking about putting a hand down BEFORE the fighting starts. He is very clear when he's getting ramped up to start trouble. I put my hand out before he goes for the dog and have encouraged my niece to try the same thing. I have found that my hand and some sort of verbal queue snaps him out of "attack mode" and the fight doesn't happen.
