By chance I Googled Bert this afternoon and found this thread. I remember him well from his frequent appearances at the Croydon folk club then at the Waddon Hotel in the late 1960's and early 1970's.
Very sad news, but it does sound like he had a great send off.
Now to try to get the CD.
