Thread Name: Lyr Req: Ole Buffalo
Subject: Lyr Add: OLE BUFFALO
Verse 5/10/13/14 is a kind of chorus, but I have not called it that, because the tune is the same as all the other verses, and it is not sung in a regular pattern.

OLE BUFFALO
As sung by Bill Bourne on "Farmer, Philanthropist & Musician" (1997)

1. Oh, yellow flowers in the sun they bloom.
The meadowlark he sing a song.
Peace in the air, love ev'rywhere,
To us such a place belongs.

2. Look out around the world:
Easy golden days.
Oh, I'm talkin' 'bout a future of happiness
Where man and animals play.

3. There is a lonesome ol' buffalo.
He's roamin' on the plains all alone.
He does not have anybody [or "any buddy"?].
He doesn't even have a home.

4. He's standing quiet in the mornin' sun.
His shiny head is hangin' low.
Oh, but his dreams fly high as the sky all right,
An' he join 'em by and by, he knows.

5. Where do you think we are goin'?
Where do you think this will lead?
What are the things worth knowin'
That will satisfy our ev'ry need?

6. Oh, I stood upon a mountaintop.
I saw the river run to the sea.
There was a long line of humanity
Tryin' to get a boat to set them free.

7. I saw a man with his family.
His love for them was clean an' true.
He was searchin' in the trees for the river to take him
On to the God he knew.

8. Oh, an' I read a book that told me
Some things that seemed to touch my soul:
How old Abraham he was a humble man,
Livin' in the days of old.

9. He just pulled up stakes one day.
He left this old world behind.
He did not know what he was goin' to.
He did not know what he would find.

10. Where do you think we are goin'?
Where do you think this will lead?
What are the things worth knowin'
That will satisfy our ev'ry need?

11. There is a lonesome ol' buffalo.
Oh, he's roamin' on the plains all alone.
He does not have anybody [or "any buddy"?].
No, he doesn't even have a home.

12. The yellow flowers in the sun they bloom.
The meadowlark he sing a song.
Peace in the air, love ev'rywhere,
To us such a place belongs.

13. Where do you think we are goin'?
Where do you think this will lead?
What are the things worth knowin'
That will satisfy our ev'ry need?

14. Where do you think we are goin' to?
Where do you think this will lead?
What are the things worth knowin' all about
That will satisfy our ev'ry need?
