Kat, that sounds like a wonderful visit from Morgan. He's such a treasure!

I ran errands this afternoon and stopped by to see Susie. She's very swollen from the trauma, they shaved her head (half had been shaved for the surgery and they asked her son - he said go ahead - it's easier to keep the area clean without hair.) She has a neck brace on until they can determine if her neck is broken and she's in traction for the broken hip and they'll do that surgery probably on Tuesday. After some of the metal hardware is gone they'd do MRIs for the neck and check on the brain swelling. She's not conscious but she does sometimes try to speak or respond.

Two of her children were there, and among other things, they worried that they should find someplace to take care of Zeke after a couple of weeks. I told them he's fine here for the duration - clearly none of them is set up to deal with him, and they're not thrilled at the idea, because they find him too rambunctious. We like him, he likes being with the dogs, the yard is large, and we have a history.

I need to get another dog bed - the two on top of the futon in the living room are firmly the property of my two dogs - I saw him looking at them and the girls curled up before he had a chance to claim on. I'll get one more and put up there - dogs CAN count, and I think they'll figure it out. :)

In other activity, I filed a lot of paper today and culled old documents from files (last year's policies for things, etc.) A load of laundry, dishes done, trash out. Counters clear - must keep this up to keep dogs in their places!
