Hello Nigel and all the folks offering up their memories of The Halliard and also Chelmsford club.I hadnt realised you all had such fond memories of those times and fair to say-it was a real pleasure playing for you.
To Sue Barfield. I found this about Piers( he lives in NZ)
Singer-songwriter Piers Hayman gave up the violin and bought his first guitar at art school when he became caught up in the UK folk music revival in the late 1950s. As a duo with Peter Cox, he performed at folk clubs all over the UK. In 1973 Piers moved to Holland and joined up with Dutch guitarist John Kuiper for the next nine years as a successful folk duo, recording three albums. He came to New Zealand in 1983, and has lived here, on and off, ever since, working as an author and illustrator. 2011 finds him "back in the clubs and back on the road" with a varied mix of contemporary and traditional material written and gathered during more than fifty years as a singer/songwriter.
