Ah but I was led to understand by my old linguistics professor that the opposite of entropy is redundancy. So whilst entropy is indeed a state to fear, I really don't fancy redundancy either; though could be looming in the current economic climate.

Life exists as a balance between the extremes of entropy (total randomness) and redundancy (total predictability). In fact I can think of a few celebrity musicians whose careers could be seen as a colourful journey from one to the other.
