Dominica Cermontan has defended the captain quite strongly and has said she was called to the bridge to communicate better with the Russian speaking passengers. However, her time-line describing the captain's presence on the bridge doesn't correlate with the Italian Coast Guard communications when he was in the lifeboat; she describes him being on the bridge around 11:50 pm when she says she left the bridge. The Coast Guard report him in his lifeboat at least an hour earlier. Cherchez le Captiane!
