Sonnet 13/12/02                         DCCLXX

You offer little chance for those who care
To help, or ease your pain. Do you desire
To reward thoughtlessness, or just to share
The agony with those of whom you tire?
You offer all to those that heart abuse,
And less than nothing to one who lends tears.
Is that what you wish, to concern refuse,
And seek for ways to multiply your fears?
You offer nothing that might give me hope
You will alter this path. How can I stand
To watch soul suffer? My heart cannot cope
With knowing you such harm to self demand.
I care too much, but cannot to you reach,
When you your own despair of life beseech.
