There was a strange walking man
Leaving footsteps on my lawn.

The misty morning heard his cries,
Felt tears from his poor wasted eyes.

The truth to his blind trusting eyes?

Knowing I won her love with lies?

The lonely strange walking man
Thanking me to help him see,

I followed footprints he made in the frost
