True story.

My youngest brother was stationed on Okinawa when he was in the USAF. One day he and some friends decided to go shark hunting using a powerhead (a sort of underwater gun) while they snorkeled. He shot a six foot or so shark, attached a line, and swam back to shore towing the dead fish. When he got there he found no shark on the line -- it had been eaten by other sharks as he swam the hundred meters or so to shore.

He was grateful that he decided to tow it with a line....
