Subject: RE: Tech: Experiment broadcast binaural&surround
I remember an experimental binaural broadcast in the 1980s with Andrew Sachs as a fugitive / escapee. No dialogue - just Sachs recorded scambling through hedges and undergrowth for 40 minutes. Also at the Early Music Fair at the Royal Horticulural Hall, circa 1982 or so, I remember BBC Radio 3 outside broadcasrt unit using binaural microphones to capture the general racket, including yours truly on a Chris Eaton Hurdy Gurdy with a very young Nigel Eaton looking on, frankly baffled by my approach to the instrument. But back then things were far from standardised...

Here's a good one - for a great ambient Surround Sound on your stereo wire up a third speaker to the positive terminals of the L-R speakers and place it equilaterally in the room in relation to the others. I think this is an old Eno trick..
