Many good suggestions above. I'd also go with Stan Rogers' "Forty Five Years From Now", and "Lies", and then I'd add several Bob Dylan songs ("Sacrilege!!!, cry the UK folkies!)....several Leonard Cohen songs...several Mary Chapin Carpenter songs ("But that's not 'folk'!!!" they cry!)
