Thanks to our friends here. We're feeling no ill effects, which is a pleasant surprise after that jolt. : ) And a car is after all just a car, but we both liked that car. : (
Just on the off chance that our dear "guest" looks in again: Our insurance company has assured us that this one is not going to affect our rates. We were stopped dead, not that close behind the car ahead; we were hit hard enough to launch our car and the one ahead of us into a third card ahead. A young couple stopped immediately and told us, and the police, that the driver who hit us had been weaving all over the road for at least a few minutes. Said driver was very obviously impaired, but I didn't get close enough to smell liquor, so made no assumptions as to reason; a police officer who took my credentials for reference, then returned them to me at the wrecking yard where the car was trucked, told us that they had determined that it was prescription medication. Our state doesn't issue front license plates; I had removed (at our insurer's instruction) our back plate at the wrecking yard before taking the pictures. Any more brilliant assumptions and admonitions on your part?
