(From the sleeve notes) The Ghosts of Spain was written for George Douglas a close friend of my father. As well as fighting in Spain, George was also the only person to be captain of Wishaw Golf Club twice, in 1945 and 1957. One of his many contributions to the club was when he returned from Spain he said "There's going to be a war so buy as much drink for the club as you can". Wishaw Golf Club took him at his word and purchased a barrel of whisky which was duly installed in their cellar. Consequently they were the only licensed premises in the area to have an abundance of drink during the 2nd World War.All thanks to George. - Gordon Neil.
