As republicans cleave to the lunatic economically and militarily illiterate homophobic oppressor of women Santorum at the expense of the only slightly barking vulture capitalist Romney (leaving the serial polygamist and philanderer Gingrich like a newt out of water) - the non-idealogues have seen the light.
The USA under the republicans would be headed back to the dark ages, ruled by superstition and hate with the economy such as it would be controlled by the economic equivalent of local warlords.
A decent sized mandate for Obama would stand a chance of some ordinary Americans getting tolerable healthcare, less dreadful support against misfortune, and maybe just maybe a chance of advancement in a country where social mobility crashed under the "rich takes all" policies of the stupid idealogue Ray-gun and the even stupider allegedly reformed alcoholic Bush junior.
