Nawww... not necessarily. They ebb & flow... they change... sometimes a 'new' one pops up to reflect the times.
The Democrats of today are not the Democrats of the Dixiecrats of the 1950s & 60s....and the Republicans are decidedly NOT the Republicans of Abe Lincoln.
Culture & demographics & societal concerns change, and all parties juggle entrenched ideas with new demands...
